The ASA style is a format for writing university research papers in the field of sociology.

ASA (American Sociological Association) Style Guide

                              

Papers in the American Sociological Association (ASA) style should follow these guidelines:
  • typed
  • double-spaced
  • 1 and 1/4" margins on all sides
  • 12 pt. Times New Roman font
  • use subheadings to organize the body of the paper
    • THIS IS A FIRST-LEVEL HEAD
    • This is a Second-Level Head
    • This is a third-level head
ASA Major Paper Sections:
  • Title Page
  • Abstract
    • Key Words - on the same page as the abstract, include a list of three to five words that help identify main themes

  • Main Body
  • References
